In the first quarter of 2023, the top five social networking applications in Egypt saw varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Tango - Live Stream, Go Live from TangoMe, Inc. experienced fluctuations in its key metrics. Weekly revenue peaked at around $35K in the week of February 20, before declining to approximately $13.6K by the end of March. Downloads saw a significant rise mid-quarter, reaching a high of 40K in mid-February, but tapered off to around 8.5K by the end of the quarter. Active users peaked at 419K in mid-February and ended the quarter at 318K.

Azar: Video Chat & Meet People from Hyperconnect LLC maintained steady performance with weekly revenue peaking at roughly $11.5K in mid-February. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 6K to 7K weekly, while active users saw a gradual decline from 58K at the start of January to 47.5K by the end of March.

BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live from BIGO TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. showed strong download numbers, peaking at 77K in late January. However, revenue trends were more volatile, with a peak of $11.5K at the end of January and a low of $4.1K in mid-March. Active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at around 521K.

SUGO: Live Voice Chat Party from MOBILE ALPHA LIMITED showed consistent growth in weekly downloads, peaking at 50K in mid-March before declining slightly to 32K by the end of the month. Weekly revenue peaked at $7K in the last week of March. Active users increased from 97K at the end of December to 137K by the end of March.

MICO: Make Friends, Live Chat from MICO WORLD had a mixed quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at $4.5K in early January but declined to around $2.4K by the end of March. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 16K in early January and settling around 7K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a slight decline, ending the quarter at approximately 50K.
